2024 Grants

In 2024, my brother and I worked on a number of independent projects. He had a background in crypto, so he did sales and relationships, while I was learning fullstack, so I developed them. This page records our milestones and funding received.

GovScore (Jan. 24 - May 24)

Starting out, we built a webapp for evaluating and ranking Optimism DAO delegates based on their voting consistency and other metrics. The app launched to mixed reviews. Despite this, we received a retroactive grant from a token vesting start-up called Hedgey for 12.5k OP ($35,375 @ $2.83 on May 1, 2024) to finish development.

WannaBet (May 24 - Aug. 24)

After GovScore, we launched a peer-to-peer social betting app called WannaBet. We received a gitcoin grant of $7.1k in usdc. Gitcoin unfortunately doesn't keep archives of their funding seasons, but the transaction of our payment can be inspected on Arbitrum's block explorer.

jellybeans.xyz (Aug. 24 - Oct. 24)

Following Wannabet, we received a mission request grant from Optimism protocol to build an onchain social game, which ended up becoming a guessing game where players ballpark guess an onchain metric from some future period of time; the closest guesses up to, but under the answer, earn a prize. Our journey is documented in a Optimism Collective Forum post.

By the end, we engaged 186 unique users, had ~2.1k transactions, and earned 2.098 ETH in fees.
